The Broken Eye (Lightbringer Series #3) By Brent Weeks 8/10

The third Lightbringer book picks up where the second one left off. This book felt a bit more like filler than the first two did. For most of the book Gavin goes through a bout of living through many of  the things that he has inflicted on everybody else. It adds a lot more flavor to his character development, but it could have been better if all the things he did were more portrayed as within his power to change--if that makes any sense.
The main character's arc is really good. It's  clear that he's showing you how history is repeating itself through the conflicts inherent in the main character.
The ending to the book is a cliffhanger which is what you expect after the first two thirds of the book. There's way to much rising action to be resolved otherwise. Which I guess is better than the not-so-great fight scene ending of the second book that's then followed by another cliff hanger.
This book felt a bit more fillery than the other books, but other than that its about as good as the others.
