Thunderhead by Neal Shusterman 7/10

Now the first thing I want to talk about is something that seems to be happening in trilogies more and more. It seems that since authors need to first sell trilogies as stand-alones the second book acts as almost all setup for the final book of the trilogy. I think that's what happened with this.  We had almost all set up. This really wasn't as good as the first one, but I did like parts of it.
One other thing this book suffers from is the overuse of tropes from the first book. There's another character added named 'Greyson,' but he feels very similar to the other characters he's also to pure for the world he's born into. At points, he's a bit hard to believe, but not awful. About halfway through the book someone comes back from the dead the same way someone did in the other book. It was pretty easy to foresee although the final reveal at the end of the book is much better.
I think that book three is going to be really good given that this book was mostly setup. Book 1 was definitely better, but this is still worth reading, and still manages to have a satisfying ending.
