Maplecroft by Cherie Priest 6/10

Maplecroft By Cherie Priest:

So, this book's premise is pretty creative. It's Lizzy Borden meets Cthulhu. If you're already a fan of H.P. Lovecraft's work get this book and eat it up. It really captures the spirit of Lovecraft's writing.
I thought the problem of this book was that it starts out really interesting in the beginning (with Lizzy Borden killing her parents because they turn into Lovecraft monstrosities).  After that,  it doesn't seem to be any place for the book to go. It gets into a lot of tropes of Lovecraft writing.
That being said the writing made me want to go back and read more Lovecraft. Which is the sign of borrowing from something well.
