Gork The Teenage Dragon by Gabe Hudson 4/10

     This was a really disappointing book, and looking at the reviews in Goodreads it looks like my opinion isn't that unique. It's pitched as this comedy book that makes fun of dragon tropes. The intro starts off with this diatribe about how dragons aren't what Beowulf and Tolkien say they are, but instead of actually engaging with those tropes he gives this story about Gork in Dragon High School. It comes off as more gimmicky, annoying, and it felt like the mentioning of classical dragon stories at the beginning and end as anachronistic more than anything else.
     It reads like it's supposed to be comedy, but at no point did I laugh. The tone has a lot of consistency problems. I was just bored. The faster I forget about this book the better.
